I was going to wait until after the appointment to post about this – but I made an appointment with the surgeon in Brisbane. It’s currently for February 9th, however that may change – depending on how things go with my GP referral.
I’m quite excited, but nervous at the same time. The consult fee is $170, but I think I’ll leave the surgeon’s name out of things until after I’ve asked if he minds.
I have an appointment to see a GP tomorrow to get a referral for the surgeon here in Brisbane. It’s not my usual GP (she doesn’t get back until February) – so it’ll make explaining everything interesting – but at least I’ll have the referral before my wife and I move.
Oh! We’re in the process of moving by the way (which is why I’ve been a bit slack with writing for the past few weeks). Luckily we have friends and family here – so I won’t have to worry too much about accomodation if I decide to go with this doctor. It will make consults a bit of a pain though – I’ll have to fly back each time.
I’ll keep you updated as things happen. I do have plans to write about donor site preparation, and (of course) information on this surgeon if I decide to go with him – but I’m still gathering information at this time.
